Parking Lot Dent

The Grocery Store Incident

2021 Honda Accord · Silver Metallic · Right rear door

Jennifer pulled into her driveway and noticed it immediately — a sharp crease running eight inches across her rear door, courtesy of a runaway cart at Randalls. The paint was intact, the metal was not.

Sharp crease dent on silver Honda Accord rear door from shopping cart impact
Before

The Damage

Single-point impact dent, approx. 8" crease. No paint break. Minor tension lines radiating from impact center.

The Diagnosis

Paintless dent repair (PDR) candidate. The dent had clean edges and no paint cracking, meaning no body filler or repainting required. Estimated 3 hours.

Fig. 01 — In Progress

The Process

  1. 1Removed interior door panel to access backside of damage
  2. 2Used PDR rods to massage metal from inside out, starting at crease edges
  3. 3Worked center tension last — 2.5 hours total manipulation
  4. 4Final gloss inspection under LED raking lights

The Result

Zero paint work required. Dent eliminated completely. Jennifer picked it up the same afternoon she dropped it off.

"
"I honestly couldn't tell where the dent was when I picked it up. I spent 20 minutes looking. They saved me $800 over the other estimate."

Full Side Collision

T-Boned at the Intersection

2020 Toyota RAV4 · Midnight Black Pearl · Full driver-side

David's RAV4 took the full force of a red-light runner on South Congress. The driver door wouldn't open, the rear door was bowed, and the rocker panel had a 14-inch buckle. His insurance adjuster needed a complete estimate within 72 hours.

Toyota RAV4 with severe driver-side collision damage, buckled door and rocker panel
Before

The Damage

Driver door totaled (intrusion). Rear driver door bent frame, glass shattered. Rocker panel buckled 14". A-pillar stress fracture suspected. Airbags deployed.

The Diagnosis

Frame pull required before any panel work. Structural scan showed 0.3" deviation at left rail — within correctable range. Replacement doors sourced OEM, not aftermarket.

The Process

  1. 1Vehicle mounted on frame rack — pulled to factory spec (verified with 3D measuring)
  2. 2A-pillar inspected and confirmed structurally sound — no replacement needed
  3. 3Driver door replaced with OEM Toyota unit, glass regulator and all hardware transferred
  4. 4Rear door replaced, new glass installed
  5. 5Rocker panel replaced — not filled, not patched
  6. 6Full Midnight Black Pearl respray on all affected panels with 3-stage blending
  7. 7Clear coat applied, 24-hour cure, machine polish to match factory finish

The Result

Frame back to factory spec. Two new OEM doors. Paint match verified under daylight and fluorescent. Insurance claim processed — zero supplemental requests.

"
"The insurance adjuster told me the estimate was the cleanest she'd seen all year. One pass, no back-and-forth. Car came back looking like it did when I drove it off the lot."

Classic Restoration

Forty Years of Oxidation, Undone

1984 Ford Mustang GT · Oxford White · Full exterior restoration

Robert's father bought the Mustang new in 1984. It sat under a tarp in a garage in Buda for 22 years. The chrome was pitted, the white had gone chalky yellow, and there were six rust spots the size of silver dollars. Robert wanted it back — exactly as it was.

After

Before

The Damage

Full oxidation on all horizontal surfaces. Rust perforation on both front fenders and trunk lid. Chrome trim pitted beyond polish. Hood had a 3" blistered section above the driver headlight.

The Diagnosis

Full strip to bare metal required. Rust cut-out and patch panel welding on fenders. Trunk lid rust treated and sealed — metal too thin to cut. New chrome sourced from original manufacturer spec.

Fig. 03 — In Progress

The Process

  1. 1Complete disassembly — all trim, glass, bumpers, lights removed
  2. 2Panels stripped to bare metal — media blasted
  3. 3Rust sections cut out, patch panels welded and ground flush
  4. 4Trunk lid treated with rust converter, sealed with epoxy primer
  5. 5Body filler applied only where structurally necessary — two panels
  6. 6Four-stage build-up: epoxy primer, high-build primer, sealer, base coat
  7. 7Oxford White matched to original Ford spec (PPG formula)
  8. 8Wet-sand between every coat — 800, 1200, 1500 grit sequence
  9. 9Clear coat applied, 48-hour cure
  10. 10Machine polish to show-quality finish

The Result

The Mustang left our shop looking like it rolled off the Dearborn line in October 1984 — except the paint was thicker, the metal was cleaner, and the clear coat would outlast both of us.
